八○年代英國最著名的樂團之一杜蘭杜蘭「Duran Duran」合唱團，這個來自英國柏明罕，成立於1978年的經典樂團，可說是New Wave音樂潮流的代表象徵。Duran Duran團員們俊美陰柔，猶如偶像般的外型，讓他們迅速受到廣大的關注，並刮起一股風潮。Duran Duran在1984年六月，以單曲〈The Reflex〉首度奪下美國排行榜的兩週冠軍，讓樂團正式邁向事業巔峰。然而就在Duran Duran的聲勢銳不可擋的時候，除了吉他手Andy Taylor之外，其他三位團員Simon LeBon、Nick Rhodes、Roger Taylor，以傲人之姿在極短時間之內，在隔年成立了「Arcadia」樂團。有別於Duran Duran較偏向主流的口味，Arcadia饒富實驗性的創作，帶來以氣氛化為主的電子搖滾音樂，可說是當時New Wave音樂潮流的頭號代表樂團。然而，這個話題性十足的樂團，只發行了一張專輯《So Red The Rose》，之後就再度回到了Duran Duran。

專輯《So Red The Rose》在當年發行之後，不僅勇奪白金唱片，專業樂評網站AMG更大聲盛讚：「這是一張Duran Duran打造不出來的出色作品！」在這張專輯裡面，找來許多知名且優質的音樂人共同合作，包括Pink Floyd的David Gilmour送上動人的吉他演奏，音樂詩人Sting在單曲〈The Promise〉裡話題合音、Herbie Hancock及Grace Jones於〈The Flame〉和〈Election Day〉當中獻聲演出。在這張專輯之中，值得一提的是就是其中的單曲〈Election Day〉，在歐美兩地都創造出好成績，於美國拿下單曲榜Top6、愛爾蘭Top 5、英國榜Top7、德國榜Top1。然而，就在專輯發行邁向25週年之時，唱片公司特地將這張經典白金唱片，以數位錄製方式重新以2CD+DVD形式發行，滿載著豪華影音獻給所有歌迷。當中CD1:收錄當初1985年原本發行專輯的九首歌，額外加上七首bonus tracks，CD2的部分則收錄了十二首各式混音的稀有音軌。在DVD的部分，則收錄了〈lection Day〉、〈The Fame〉、〈Missing〉、〈Goodbye Is Forever〉、〈The Promise〉 …等五首音樂錄影帶，拍攝音樂錄影帶的幕後花絮，以及珍貴的攝影片段。<文/結糯米。>
